The department's secretariat will be closed from August 10 to August 28.

Important notice regarding ongoing constructions

Due to the impending construction work in the lobby the following restrictions will be in place until further notice: --- 1. All users are advised that the lockers will not be accessible from the beginning of the building measures until the beginning of the semester. All valuables must be removed before August 17! --- 2. From August 24, access to the department will only be possible through the eastern stairwell (emergency exit towards Marstallstraße). --- 3. From August 24, card-holders will need to update their card at the terminal next to the entrance of the Heuscheuer (across Marstallstraße). --- 4. From August 24, no more than 30 persons can be present in the department at any time. --- Watch this space for further notices.

The Department

The Department of Ancient History and Epigraphy has been an independent seminar at the University of Heidelberg since 1928. It is dedicated to research and teaching in all areas of Ancient History and draws students and researchers from all over the world.

At the Department of Ancient History and Epigraphy in Heidelberg, you can study the history of the Ancient World in its whole breadth.
